Our purpose built vocal booth, is a real feature of the recording experience at Univibe.

Our booth is completely isolated from all other rooms in the complex, on a double thickness floated floor!. Visibility into the control room is excellent, ensuring that the vocalist does not feel enclosed and forgotten about.

ACOUSTICS - our vocal booth has a variable acoustic response using old 12" records.
These records are fixed to acoustic dampening boards and provide a bright reflective response on one side, and a completely dead response on the other.
In all we have 15 of these boards and any combination of reflective/dead can be achieved in a matter of minutes.
Also, bands love to search for what classic albums are up there, cause there are some real gems!

MONITORING - unlike most studios where the musician is completely in the hands of the engineer to provide a headphone mix that they are happy with, at Univibe we hand control over to YOU. Of course we can do it all for you, but we also provide the facility for you to mix your own headphones, from the vocal booth, without affecting any of the recorded sound. This allows you to play away to your hearts content, and get your phones sounding exactly how you want them to.

MICROPHONES - our vocal microphone collection is always growing, but at the moment it consists of Neumann U87, AKG SolidTube, Shure SM7, Rode NT2 and a gorgeous RCA junior ribbon microphone
