"When I began my search for the right studio, as a musical theatre singer, many of the studios seemed focused on indie, rock and pop bands. I stumbled across univibe on google and am so very glad I did. Upon arrival I was greeted by the My producer for the day, Joel Spencer who proceeded to show me around the extensive and highly sophisticated facilities univibe have to offer. I had prepared several backing tracks, some of which were in the wrong keys, were of poor quality or hadnt copied to CD correctly. Joel was, in the space of minutes, able to tailor them to my needs flawlessly. My main aim was for a recording that sounded of fantastic quality but still true to how I sound. Joel has a fantastic ear for this and was very willing to offer criticism and also advise on arrangements and melodic choices to enhance my performance. "Univibe is a studio we have used on several occasions and would not hesitate to go back there again. The studio has great equipment & backline available - from a Pearl Drum kit that didn't make our drummer scream in rage to the 1970's Marshall JMP head is so beautiful it will make you cry, seriously, it's why ears were invented.The biggest reason to use Univibe though is the engineers. They enjoy what they do and they take great pride in getting the absolute best sound out of a band despite the usual limitations of time & budget. They will be as constructive & helpful as you need them to be, they are genuinely there to make the best out of your sound.Highly recommended for all types of bands / musicians especially those looking for a high quality product whilst working on a tight budget. "We have been recording with Joel at Univibe for over 5 years now. certain tracks from our first album were recorded by him, and all of our work since has also been done by him, firstly at his studios inside JJM in walsall, and more recently in his custom built facilities in the heart of birmingham. Joel is an excellent sound engineer, producer and all round pleasure to work with. He knows just the right way to help you get 'that one take', be it that you're not playing with enough conviction, or that he can see you're too tired and may suggest coming back for a fresh try on another day. "We have only been able to record one 12 hour session with Joel at univibe so far but it was a very good experience.
